Ultrafiltration membranes, also known as hollow fiber membranes, are tubular-shaped, white membranes that allow water to flow from the outside to the inside of the fibers under the pressure of the water flow. When one end of the tube is sealed or the tube is bent into a U-shape and water flows under pressure, it permeates through the micropores with sizes ranging from approximately 0.1 to 0.001 micrometers.
